"A child her wayward pencil drew
On margins of her book;
Garlands of flower, dancing elves,
Bud, butterfly, and brook,
Lessons undone, and plum forgot,
Seeking with hand and heart
The teacher whom she learned to love
Before she knew t'was Art."

Louisa May Alcott

Some people look at a child’s canvas and see splotches of color. Paula looked at a child’s canvas and saw possibility. A yellow circle was more than that; it was a sunburst of color to bring happiness to the day; a blue line represented the rippling of water as it crashed against the rocks. Paula saw talent waiting to be nurtured.
