“If you hear a voice within you saying, “You are not a painter”, then by all means paint...And that voice will be silenced.”

Vincent Van Gogh

“Miss Gallant’s Favourite Season”

The story begins with Miss Gallant greeting her class on the first day of school, the season of fall. As Miss Gallant invites the students to paint this beautiful season, because it is her favourite, she encourages them to imagine. With the arrival of each special season, her students become more independent. By the end of the school year they are able to paint on their own as Miss Gallant looks on. It is on the last day of school when the children realize that every season is Miss. Gallants favourite. She has impressed upon them that the most simple things are indeed beautiful and asks her class to remember that every season is her very favourite.
