PAULA'S PLACE – PUBLIC OPENING (December 6, 2006)

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead (1901-978)

On December 6, 2006, this living memorial to a mother, sister, wife, teacher, colleague and friend was unveiled; an eternal symbol of perseverance, gratitude and love. And as the doors opened to reveal this labour of love, Paula's presence was felt by all. No detail was missed...every element of Paula echoed throughout; from the perfectly organized supply room to containers of sunflowers, Paula's favorite, perfectly positioned; the portrait of Paula and her daughter Anna, generously donated by local artist Ineke Graham. Enter all with a happy heart into a room of passion, creativity and dreams; of peace and hope; of gratitude and love.

Where do we begin to thank the kind souls who gave so readily of their time, generosity and emotion? You are forever a part of this vision; you have forever carved out a special place within our hearts.
