“Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.”

Paula was an emotionally charged young woman who truly had an enthusiastic passion for everything she did. What better way to honour her memory and raise the required funds to build and sustain Paula’s Place than to host a dinner and auction. On October 21st, 2006 Chef Ron McIsaac and his team prepared a succulent roast hip of beef dinner to serve to over three hundred guests in attendance at the Lakeside Fire Hall. Guests were entertained during dinner to a video which chronicled the transformation of Paula’s Place (please see link below). The appreciation felt by all who were in attendance was so evident in the emotion which quickly spread throughout the room - thanks Lorna, you did a wonderful job! And what a way to start an auction! The bidding only intensified as the night progressed…..there were tears, warm embraces, laughter, reflections and so many generous souls who came to show their love and support for Paula’s Place and for a woman they loved dearly.

The night was a huge success and could not have been done without the support of the many kind and caring souls who gave so generously of their time. To each of you, please know that you have touched many thankful hearts; the hearts of the children who will enjoy and create their works of art in Paula’s Place, as well as the hearts of Paula’s family and numerous friends. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts….always!
