PAULA DRIVE (October 10, 2007)

“Gratitude is the memory of the heart.”

Jean Baptiste Massieu

So far reaching is the kindness of strangers ...

So far reaching was this horrific crime that a wonderful woman from Lana's neighbourhood, Tresina Hillier, petitioned the neighbours with the recommendation that their street be renamed in memory of Paula.  Not only is this a testament to Paula and her sisters but it is a reminder that despite the darkness we have endured since December 27, 2005, goodness does abound.  This tribute to Paula's memory is affirmation to all that despite our grief and despair, there is a glimmer of light around the next corner.

As the days pass to weeks, the weeks to months and the months to years, I hope each time Paula's sisters pass this street sign, they are reminded of the love that is all around them.
